Contemporary sculptor
Michael Angelo Deer
Chose teak wood as his medium
par excellence, I hear

His gallery of fine art held
the greatest works he'd done
Which all drew highest praise, of course,
that is, except for one

His likeness of Wang Chung, dear folks
of that, no one would speak
In art, one is considered gauche,
for sculpting Chung in teak

JL,
Thanks, I'm trying to cut back on the morphemes, I hear that stuff is addicting. Just spoonin' up a little somethin' for yuh, lol.

I can't wait...now I'm reading the punch line first and then going back and reading how you got there. It's all good!

Tongue in cheek, right? Michael Angelo Deer is a fictitious name, isn't it? It's kinda funny to say it aloud.

Lori,
Thanks, I really haven't the faintest idea of where this stuff comes from, though I suspect it's a product of a truly twisted mind, lol.
Doc

vergie,
Thanks, and welcome to Passions. "Deer", more commonly referred to as "Balladeer" is one of PIP's resident poets and also one of their first moderators. A highly renowned published poet at that. It has become my distinct pleasure to poke at him at my leisure, and we often trade jibes in our attempts to entertain. He also hosts the poetry workshop for those who wish to improve their craft. I have learned a great deal from him in my twelve years here, and am proud to consider him one of the best friends I've never met. That being said, I hope you enjoy your stay here, and my little attempts at humor.

these would make a great book except  I amnot sure people would know who Balladeer was/is!

In fact I think I might save them to re-read when I am "down in the dumps".

A smiling start to my morning once again

Thank you, and have a great weekend, I am off to  work at the

LOL... I love both the poem and your responses... If this is the product of a twisted mind, c'mon over here and we'll twist again! LOL

I agree with Maureen; but, I don't know if it would matter if people knew who Balladeer was to enjoy them.  They are fun - and like potato chips, they are addicting.

Alison,
Thanks. Lol at the book idea though, I couldn't really call it a "best of" now could I, not as bad as these things are.
As long as it's within my power to conjure up a chuckle here and there, that's good enough for me, lol.
