About two hundred miles north
of "Deer's" Ft. Lauderdale
Dillsbury Court, Orlando folks
had a small shop for sale

"A sandwich shop" thought Balladeer
"that's what they need up there "
And promptly opened shop to serve
some down home southern fare

His specialty, the "Po-boy" friends
drew folks from miles around
He never even advertised
but word still got around

Perhaps you've even heard of it
I guess that all depends
If you've heard of a sandwich called
the "Dillsbury Po-boy", friends

Okay, okay, I gotta stop reading these tonight.  This one makes me want to reach out and poke someone.  Very creative, Doc.

Top this? You must be joking. It's not even palatable. I know you have wit but it appears you're only using half of it. Even Toerag could outdo this...and English is a foreign language to him!

Alison,
Lol, thanks. Apparently others have different opinions about my creativity.
Doc.

Balladeer,
Lol, are you just going to armchair quarterback or are you going to join the game?

JL,
Thanks, I was thinking more like left field, but I'll go with "out of the park", lol.

Balladeer,
Hey now, by definition I believe these fit right in with most peoples idea of a
"pun". I may grimace when I write them, sometimes even grit my teeth, but "Dillsbury
Po-boy" is just plain comedic genius. If  Carson or Leno had said this you'd all be laughing.
