What you can see,
You need not prove.
It's just there to see,
What's the big deal?

It's the concealed, even
From childhood filled
Me with wonder, so,
I listened to its secrets.

Life is filled with mystery,
We walk and we play.
Secrets are there every day,
Most ignore them. Not me.

An old man passing by,
Leaning on a cane,
Holding a cardboard box.
Secret. I follow him.

Was 'bout tuckered out,
Time he got there.
Little white house,
Picket fence and all.

Tow-headed boy,
Playing in front yard.
"Gramps!" he yelled,
He gave him the box.

Lad eagerly opened it,
A frog leaped out.
"Froggie!" squealed the lad,
Gramps beamed with pride.

Secrets. I seek 'em out.
Sittin' round campfire,
As a lad of my own,
Tellin' tall stories.

Daring each other,
To sneak in the
"Haunted House,"
On the corner nearby.

With eyes closed,
So as not to see the ghost.
I was the only one,
In house with secrets.

The obvious is dull,
Secrets discovered,
Inside that old house,
I grew a bit taller.

Back at the campfire,
I told them tall tales,
About a crazed woman,
I barely fled with my life.

One secret I've failed,
To ferret out and claim.
The God one, you know,
That Holy Trinity thing.

Makes no difference,
I'm still searching for it,
Getting long in the tooth,
And it has eluded me.

What country does rain
Come from? . . . A secret.
Where is lightning stored?
Why isn't thunder silent?

Secrets! They're here,
There, and everywhere.
That streetlight burning,
Wonder what secrets it . . .

Small and great mysteries/secrets are equally fascinating, you are right, dear Jerry.

You are exercising your patience, as some secrets are really tough to unravel!
