Well folks, you know the story of
how God created Earth
After six hard days of labor he
decided to give birth

to a true poetic genius that
we're blessed to have right here
I refer , of course, to no one else
but our great "Balladeer"

Though true I tease and taunt him
as matadors do bulls
and wave my cape of poetry
of bright "read" words of wool

Truth be I emulate him 'cause
well folks, the man's got style
If you're waiting for a punch line,
this time and with out guile

I'm pleased to say there isn't one
so "Deer" be of good cheer
This day is yours because I've got
the balance of the year.

LOL... I love your gift, Doc... but I'm glad you're only giving garlands and accolades one day... don't spare him the sparring too long! *S*

Well, Doc, I have to tell you
That's a kindly post you made
And I'm sure that there's no reason
For me looking for the blade.

I know you give these accolades
Because you really care
And enjoy our great comraderie
(What's that shadow over there?!?!)

We get a long so well because
We share a strong respect
And there's no reason I should feel
Your hands around my neck.

We started out as friends and we
Have been so ever since
And, no, it's just the bright sun.
You don't really see me wince!

Without you, Doc, this site would be
A sadder, poorer place.
We go together very well..
We both enjoy the race!

Thank you, Doc....you are a good friend.

Thanks, lol, any good fighter knows it's best to keep your adversary off balance.

ebonygirl,
Thanks, I'm glad you picked up on our little shenanagans, if we can give someone a chuckle now and then it makes it all worth it.

Doc

I was away for the big day and still have to post some poems - one of which is 'Deer's late bd poem.  But, you and Mike are two reasons to keep hanging out here in PiP land.  I love your style, your humor and your talent.  That goes for both of you.

I missed this! But I was also coming out of the influence of pain killers!

You're so clever!

Happy Belated, 'Deer!
