Celebrating 'Universalism'
and Human Diversity!

Walk a deep-forest path
where only shadows follow,
tumbling along with our
dreams.
Listen for the ‘voice’ of the
changing seasons.
Taste a cool-bright
moonlit Autumn night.
Dwell upon the world
suspended,
in a single drop of dew...
and the astonishing artistry
of each fleeting flake of snow.
Contemplate a sea and sky
of infinite motion.
Let your mind range
far and wide with the
ever-rolling clouds.
Then try to defend...
the small egregious thought
that human ‘differences’
could ever truly matter
in any vain attempt to justify
the pain and death of innocents!

        --- b. e. adams (8/19/2011)

I redid this only because it is something
that I deeply feel should be said periodically ...
would that 'the world' were listening!

You are so right, dear Bruce, differences should actually matter because they represent an enrichment, we are One under the sun and in the vast expansion of Universe.

Your poem is a magnificent representation of awakening to the truth.

Love and peace.
