DREAM THE MOMENTS

Hold me just one tenuous moment
in your arms oak-strong
and as gentle as butterfly-breath,
keeping out the din and chaos
of the reeling world.

Share just one glass of wine with me,
deep-red and rich
taking turns at slow savouring sips.

Let your eyes melt into mine
for an imagined flower-instant
on a grassy hill-top in the summer sun.

Kiss me just one whisper-kiss
that sings a summer breeze,
to last beyond evermore . . .

and before you turn away
and leave,
look back over your shoulder
and give me
just one
warm,
liquid
goodbye-smile.

Thank you, Jerry. I hadn’t looked at it quite that way, but you are right, yes, this poem is very full of nature. The truth of it is that I am, always was and always will be in love with nature! Not just love, me, love my dog – but love me, love nature too! Smiles. Laughing happily at the applauding and standing and clapping! Bowing and blushing, thank you. More smiles.
