Miserere nobis ...

Have mercy on us

when we truncate the tree of love
disregarding the immeasurability
of its tender and passionate shoots
meant to touch the skies and beyond

when we throw nets to capture a heart
ignoring its right to be free and fly high
over wildflower fields into the lightness
of wind driven teasing white clouds

when we dare not live up to our dreams
unleashing our wildest imaginations
disrespecting the law of manifestation
which rewards the boldest dreamers

when we mistrust our God-given abilities
to become co-creators of our lives
by building insurmountable walls of doubts
instead of twirling in full confidence

when we allow our days to be gray
instead of splashing buckets of colours
onto the screen of our experiences
for the benefit of all the onlookers

Miserere nobis

when we dare not express our divinity
oblivious of our common celestial roots
and of Your wish to manifest through us
in all of Your perfection and magnificence.

The wings are in place
the power is on
let us fly high
in limitless skies
and love and love and love ...!

Your poem is genius writing Margherita. Each stanza, line, is captivating. We fail to remember that each smile or frown that adorns our face impacts someone, somewhere; for each action there is a reaction.

Peace and Love,
Marcia

So very, very beautiful, Margherita, the exquisite poem and the breath-taking photo - and so Margherita - as beautiful as you are inside and out.

A poem directed at the slovenly of lovers and inspired by grace and loveliness. To not be all that we can be in whatever endeavor we find ourselves in is, in my opinion, le3st I repeat myself, a slovenly approach.

Margherita, my dear friend,

This is simply superb! You might give
thought to sharing it with your church,
and other churches, just so they might
get the true feel of what it is to be
united with not only their specific
religion, but with the earth, as well.

It came upon me of a sudden insight from
a memory of long ago, when I saw rows and
rows of beautiful flowers being grown only
to be cut for a parade [Rose Bowl Parade,
as well as others] that within your poem
I saw their growth only for monetary means,
and not because the flowers grew of and
for their own self, as wildflowers are
wont to do.

And yes, I was and am part of the culture
that breeds animals for food; but what less
feel of a flower to a cow when it comes to
taking of life? No one hears the thud of a
well-plucked flower?

In other words, my friend...you made me think,
and I do so appreciate a well wrought
thinking poem.

Bless you.

Love, K

Thank you, dear Marcia, for your beautiful comment. Yes, sometimes we lack that awareness that can make really a great difference!

Thank you, dear Diana, for your kind appreciation and for perceiving me so positively.

Thank you, dear Ebonygirl, for your loving comment. Sometimes we need a little nudge to realize our true potential.

Dear Jerry, "slovenly" is a new discovery in my vocabulary. And yes it fits. Thank you so much for your kind reply.

It feels good to be appreciated by you, dear Maureen, thank you!

Thank you, dear Lori, your loving comment brings joy.

Dear Karilea, your reply is quite special, thank you. Love your ponderings! The Church? I fear they would misunderstand my words ....  though Jesus said it .... "You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Mt 5:48) The law of love is perfect, but we struggle every day to adhere to these divine revelations. Thank you again!

Dear D., it's nice to find you in here with such a loving reply. Thank you!

Love and joy to all!
Margherita

Oh Margherita, so good to read you! This captivating poem is a delight...for the sense and for the spirit. I found a smile by the end...it is truly uplifting, and those who tend to become mired in pessimism (like myself) need to read this daily...I will be returning to it time and again. Thank you for sharing it with us! Your gift amazes.

All my best~

Dear James, thank you so much for reading and agreeing with that most significant word ... and so be it!

Thank you, dear Jimmy, for your loving comment.

Dear Karen, I enjoyed your capital letters, thank you so much!

Amaryllis, my dear, the sun shines brighter suddenly when I see your presence here. Thank you for your most kind and loving comment. We all need the reminder sometimes, lest we surrender to doubts and cynism.

Love and hugs to all, my dear Poet friends.
