I never would play cards with the god mongers
since my hands were usually sinsational
and face up always seemed to bother them

more than keeping hidden things under proper

there were sunday special kinds of ladies too
the hung-over lovers from saturday evenings
that walked in the sun with hurry shoes on

to jump from my bones between hunting husbands

I wore my emotionally unstable insatiability
like a work shirt with snaps instead of buttons
easier to be ripped off by heartbeat mechanics

with french nails and freckle candy front ends

that would decorate my back with rows of scars
then offer salty tears as soothsay salvation
instant healing with moan song musical medleys

and then look backs from another lovers shoulder
