Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2011-08-10 09:08 PM

Alone
I can do as I please
yet nothing pleases me
I can't rest easy because
the easy that I rest on
is gone
My patience is short
and my days are long
I know I shouldn't pause
but fill every minute
of the day...
when you do it
time flies a way
My blues are such
I feel stuck
inside of me
reaching out from home
by my computer and phone
to a close few
and my Pipsters too
It is a particular kind of hell
in which the lonely dwell

Haha! As soon as I saw the title to this post immediately my mind said, "Lori." Sure enough when I looked there was your name. Nice poem of wanting, yearning and wishing your guy would just come home. Sorry for laughing.

I was thinking about you as I wrote it wondering how you do alone everyday. Thank God for Zoe...

It's interesting to read a poem like this and think about how different people are.  I am really social, but I love my alone time.  Maybe because I am not truly alone.  It's interesting to think about and your poem got me there, Lori.

Amen to that! *S* It's one thing to be alone... altogether different to be lonely.

Solitary and Lonely are 2 completely different birds. I have been in both places and can relate.

Suthern thank you so much for assuring me there is a difference. I think I have a double whammy.  Thanks for being here, it does help ox

Lori, I enjoyed your poem and am glad your particular kind of Hell is of a temporary nature.

For me, being on my own (except for Cleo and Benji and the spirits of Flicka, Tigger and Daisy), is a particular kind of Heaven!

according to the wise women above you are merely a solitary free bird and not a lonely suckatoo. I celebrate your joy with you when you write...it just oozes out of you like honey.
