She bent her lip against her inner thigh
As if she covered the earth with one side

She twisted her hair into a small knot
Like the Chesapeake Bay that tied its wake
Around the rise of the sun

Her eyes were distant
As the low bridge
Unearthing her little shades

She was so young when the sun first rose
But as the night hit like the softness of the sea
She had already become a woman

Strong willed in her vision
Eyes that stormed the river
Not too far from her families cottage

She lulled her voice so quietly
Into the empty, bending streets
Sitting just east of the white villas that sat above the blistering sea

Her thoughts were at peace this night
Far away from her usual fight
Slightly to the right, with her ring finger sliding along the evening sky.
