Okay, I miss all you guys and dames
You made me feel every emotion in the book
On that beautiful silver screen
I walked down the tough streets with
Mitchum, Bogart, et al
No nonsense guys on and off the screen
Slinky dames made my temperature rise
You betcha
Rita and Marilyn, Sophia, Jane
They were the teasing sirens
As tough as Charles Bronson
Robert Ryan or Clint (Make my day) Eastwood
In their own way
The dames
Ah, tough guys didn’t stand a chance
When they slinked through the door
Faye Dunaway and Chinatown
Whew!
Yeah, I miss the guys and dames
They come to me at night
In my dreams
I’m Richard Widmark checking out the angles
Trying to stay outta trouble
But Widmark, like me, usually found it anyway
I miss those movies
The noir days
Bigger than life characters
The “Come on, Buster, show me what you’ve got,” dames
Lauren Becall
Ultra sultry, with that husky, throaty voice
Bogart succumbed to her style
In film, in life
I flashback to those old black-and-white days
And smile

Oh, how I relate to that.  You got me feeling all nostalgic now, JP.  Time to spend a day watching oldies...  Well done, my friend.

Haha! Yeah, Michael, a lot of us can relate to Widmark. Appreciate you being here. I've been battling the shingles for over two months, that's why I not around as much.

Yep!

If Elizabeth Taylor was anything, it wasn't dumb, except maybe in the later years, even that may not be dumb, but misguided.

Too bad we don't have movie producers and actors of that caliber any longer
An era of true entertainment.
Nice write!
Oh yeah, "Thanks for the memories..."

I lost my satellite dish a few months ago and so I watch a LOT less TV. But one of the channels my rabbit ears pick up plays old B&W movies. I'm loving the nostalgia there and here! *S*

JL, you are right about the actors and producers, and I will add directors of that long ago era. Thanks for stopping by.

I had to google up few of those names, Jerry. True, black and white days of cinema were magical indeed.
