I read Michaels excellent poem, "Camelot" as well as Balladeer's comments about the poetic use of allegory.  I was inspired to write an allegorical poem.  (Be sure and read "Camelot", a masterful poem)

Listen one and listen all,
...to my poetic story,
About a politician,
...by the name of Allegory.
We all know his pedigree,
...a Senator from Tennessee,
A White House run, done in by chads,
...but things worked out, Praise Glory Be!
"Inconvenient Truth", a Nobel Prize,
....and now a gazillionaire,
Global warming, that's his shtick,
...as he jets from here to there,
But in his life, there's one big hole,
...as Tipper's flown the coop,
It seems she finally figured out,
...Allegory's a nincompoop.

(not meant as a political statement, sometimes you just have to follow the rhyme.)

Loved this, politically in nature as it is, so I took it that way. I'm smiling.

Although I loved this tale,
I'd be willing to bet;
None of you knew Allegory
Invented the internet.

Sorry Tim... couldn't help myself.  :P

Oh now I get it, this is what you call politically correct rhyme and meter!!
