Where were you, when I needed a friend, comforted, helped to finally get my heat to mend? When I needed held, loved, someone to hold my hand; a smile, patience, understanding, without a demand. Where were you, when you, figured out that you filled my heart; did you look towards me and smile? Did it give you a start? When you figured out, that you, were loved finally, by me, did you wonder, when I looked, what I did see? Where were you, while I waited, to smell your hair and kiss your lips, to see your smile and stroke your cheek with my fingertips. While I waited patiently for, what I hoped, was my due. Where were you when you discovered, that you, loved me, too? |

I was sitting in my living room, my heart bursting with disbelieving joy, as it finally sunk in that you loved me like I always hoped someone would. Totally, unselfishly, unabashedly. Your persistence paid off when finally I saw that I was in love with you too. Never will I forget that day. |
