I would not have openly mentioned Arizona
or those stones I coveted against your skin
when you leaned back against that afternoon
and closed your eyes around pretend places

you mentioned how the sun felt like breath
and it was so bold where it touched you
like it was a lover without permission
just taking your secrets away from shadows

my eyes too were like the sun on your charms
but you said you didn't mind the traffic
as long as I took my time in some places
to fully understand your watering process

and how you didn't need seed to grow things

Gotta love it, and I do. This say much and says it in your own special style. Something mush have come over me, but I "got" it. Then again, maybe not.

The last stanza is my favorite. At first I wasn't sure where you were going with the poem, but I had one of those 'Ah-ha' moment where everything just made sense. Well done, Stranger.

Always a pleasure reading you, Mr Dark.  I shall be visiting Arizona soon but no ... "watering process" awaits.

When you read lines like:
"when you leaned back against that afternoon
and closed your eyes around pretend places"
you know you've read a great poem.
