Soon Could Mean Never

As a part of
my growing up
and letting go
I tell my sweetheart
that I won't ask her
to move to Hawaii anymore.
Its taken me forever,
but finally I'm
starting to understand
that everytime I ask her
I receive the same answer...soon.
The problem is, soon is not forthcoming.
In fact, soon seems to be a code word
that means later, as in "sooner or later"
and for all I know, to her
soon could mean never.

Take it for granted that it means never. Yep, sound that way to me. Sounds right to me that you told her you wouldn't ask her anymore. she may ask you now sometime in the future to go. Just answer her with . . . soon.

it is sad but it is often true, your poem is breathtaking and moving, I feel sorry, she doesn't deserve your attention, what a superb share
