I suck cool air into my chest
As thoughts begin to rise
Is death the path to final rest?
Who lurks beyond our eyes?
What exists outside this prison?
This place of toil and tears
Exhaling slowly, now I listen
For the answer to my fears

The earth is still, no sounds escape
The answer, a sighing breeze
My soul imagines seeing a shape
“I’m in the life you breathe”
I shiver at the echoed thought
In this cool air, life is caught

Poigant poem, and beautifully done. I was taken in by your title. Each day we need to awaken with a new faith, life is ever-changing.

Thank you all for your comments and compliments, my intent was to play on the phrase 'leap of faith' to show how every moment(breath) of life is a leap of faith. I'm glad some of that came across
