        far behind

rocks, forests, and
pure mountain streams
remembering
a world without man

shimmering waves
of translucent splendor
on this lake of dreams

wildflowers flaming
in abandoned fields
before a  perfect
twilight calm

silver–lantern moon
parting clouds and stars
in infinite mystic wonder

the sound of distant
evening bells and
music from a farther
place and time

she walks this same
grand world in endless
grace and beauty,
while I remain
in love forever ...
unnoticed and
very far behind

You are definately in touch with your muse lately, Bruce. I wish I could find mine.

Such a beautiful setting for so much longing... I know being invisible, too. *S*

Enchanting poem, dreampoet.
No one paints and blends their words quite the way you do.

Oh so good!

Bruce...you connect to the earth so beautifully, and yet still long to see footsteps on the path.  I understand this.
