Once more Doc got his feelings crushed
When "Deer" didn't care for lunch
Yep, not one little "That was good"
or maybe "Thanks a bunch"

Not one to give up easily
Doc knocked on "Deers" front door
He brought some eggs, some fresh OJ
and some alms for the poor

Reluctantly "Deer" let him in
and showed him to a seat
"I thought you mentioned breakfast Doc
so what'd you bring to eat?"

Well, Doc tripped on his way to sit
and broke off two chair legs
He spilled the orange juice on the alms
but didn't break the eggs

"I thought I'd fix us omelets "Deer"
thank god I've saved the eggs"
"I'm really sorry 'bout the chair
but this, forgiveness begs"

"You see you cannot make alms wet
without breaking a few legs"

You're just having too much fun now, Doc!

Thank goodness, because it's almost too hot for humor, but for some reason, you bring out the laughter in all of us!

Sunshine,
Thanks, Lol "too much fun"? Between Balladeers' pungent, er, poignant replies and the absurdity of some of these puns, I'm having an absolute laugh riot. I'll try and blow you some "cool".

ebonygirl,
Thanks, I have no idea how long this might continue, but I'm guessing it may go on until we run out of sayings to butcher, er, play with.
Doc

Aw, c'mon Balladeer, after all, here I've brought you breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Damn man, I'm thinking you just don't appreciate me.
Doc

Oh, Divine One,
Thanks, I'm afraid you may have caught me at my best (such as it is). I hate when that happens, it's usally better to ease into my humor, lol.
Doc
