Here I sit and can't understand
Why this young woman from upstairs
Knocks once every night
Then walks through the unlocked door
She's such a pretty thing
Willowy look of perfection in the moonlight's shaft
She speaks as she walks toward me
So delicate, so soft is her voice
Still, I understand her all too well
She repeats the same words
Each night she comes to me
I have missed you
She says, smiles and blows me a kiss
She come to me
She touches me
Though I don't have the strength I used to have
She administer to me
In her own peculiar way
I ask
"Why me? Why? Precious one, Why?
Why do you come to me?"
She says . . .
I sup from your weakness, it makes me strong.
