the man's appearance is unacceptable
one look and you realize
the man is a tower of strength
physically and mentally
this is a man's man
I know this
so why does he terrify me

it's because I see him daily
were 'er I go he is there
staring at me with black, sinister eyes
this has been going on for weeks
this stalking
I should confront him
and be done with it

but no
I can't, he is much too formidable
even though he hardly moves
the only sign of life
is his burning, penetrating, black eyes
I can feel them burning into mine
what does he want?

I take different routes
to confuse him, but it never works
he is always there
hidden in the shadows
watching, staring
the pressure on me is becoming intolerable
can't stand it, must do something

I prepare myself
with words instead of weapons
for some reason I feel
he'll respond to words best
I don't know, but I'm gong to find out
this is it
this is the day to settle things

I walk up to him
he doesn't move an inch
still staring
I point my finger in his face
he growls something
steps into me
I awoke drenched in sweat

Hanging on every word I was anxious to see how this ended. You couldn't have done it better.

Hi Oklahoma Rose, and thank you very much for stopping by even though you found yourself inside "a horrible dream."

Thanks, Marcia, for your high-fives, makes me feel good, and that is a good thing, is it not? Yes, it is, I'll answer my own question.

Enjoyed this, Jerry.  Whilst it was a nightmare, it is one I wouldn't have minded (after the fact, LOL) having, as it was a fascinating one.

Sometime words work best, sometimes they don’t not with nightmares, never. Thrilling write this.
