Way up Alisons' way a great cook-off was held
every year at the start of the summer
Srictly amature though as the rule book made clear
which made Balladeer think "What a bummer"

"I just must have that prize for I covet them all,
all I need is a way to compete"
For you see Balladeer was a grand master chef
who was known far and wide for his eats

Once his plan was devised "Deer" hopped on the next plane
and right up to Alaska he flew
when the contest was held "Deer" took home the 1st prize
and its all 'cause of something he knew

Though the contest was closed to professionals folks
"Deers'" deception was never discovered
Whale fat's what he cooked for he knew very well
one cannot tell a cook by his blubber

Balladeer,
Lol, hmmm that's funny, I winced everytime I read it. It's gettin' so a guy can't even turn a phrase around here.
Doc

Ida,
Thanks, now that's more like it, I knew it was my bad, but I couldn't resist.
Doc

Alison,
Lol, I guess it's all in how you prepare it.

Balladeer's wrong. LOL (I know he doesn't believe such a thing is possible, but he'll just have to live with facts. *G*) And my groan was easily measured... in fact, scientists are shaking their heads wondering why the earth just rippled through Texas so far from any fault lines. LOL

But it was a groan of appreciation... I didn't see that one coming and enjoyed it immensely! *S*

suthern,
Well, thank you, it certainly is refreshing
to have someone of your obviously refined tastes agree that this was funny, really bad, but still funny.
