Old Gunny Bags

While damp soak roads sparkle to dim lights,
Silver crystal rain drops whisper through nights,
Feeble footsteps with fine shiny brown shoes,
Wrinkles fill those lengthy hunch coats moves,

Hypnotic pale eyes defies any emotions to flow,
Deep lines on his forehead, bony cheeks glow,
Firm grip of his old fingers play magical notes,
Warm woolen scarf across his neck gently floats,

Long curly ancient thread like grey beard hair,
Keen bat like sharp ears, his nose sniffing the air,
Howling stray canines scatter there vivid voice,
Rats a plenty for the eagle owl’s tasty choice,

“What are you up to in this dark narrow alley?
Asking him I move closer to this old dilly-dally,
He’s continues to place gunny bags in a truck,
“One of those cleaning jobs, making swift buck”

Moving closer, yelling “What are you up to old chap?
Midnight silence startled by group of raven wings flap,
Slowing lifting his shaky head, he began to speak,
“Collecting the bag of lies, for the ultimate critique”

Prasad, you did an excellent job with the descriptiveness of the old fellow. I could see him in my mind.....very nice indeed!

WELL done, my friend. Your story/poem had me glued to the screen. I read slowly, trying to get the gist of your words. It wasn't until the end that I finally "got" it. You are to be congratulated, Prasad, and I hereby congratulate you. What makes this poem so special to me is the old man and his bag of lies, wondering if he has any of mine in that sack. Excellent!
