alone I am tonight
drinking a glass of cheap California burgundy
sipping, web surfing
'ere I creep into bed
the days' end
time for meditative thought
private notions which only seem to come to us
in the night
before we retire
to dream about private things
looking out my window
the moon hardly noticeable
so pale and distant
as if it was trying to hide
still, it is the moon
I raise my wineglass to its beauty
beauty even now
pale and alone in the night sky
alone, like I
our reveries in the night
when we're alone
tend to wander among the past
me not so much anymore
so happy I found the wherewithal
to give up my guilt
and make reconciliations
to it all
streetlight lights up the corner of the street
uncovering what is below
making sinister shadows
I sense things in the shadows
things which maybe shouldn't be there
shadows
we all have our shadows
the ones deep within our psyche
sometimes at night
like now
my shadow comes a-calling
with questions and answers
old  questions
the kind that have been asked
through the ages
I have some answers
mostly though I don't
Zoe, my mutt
is yipping softly as she sleeps
on the sofa
nightmares I guess
Zoe has her own shadows

Another great tagalong with your thoughts.  I so appreciate these deep musings with you,
I like where you send my head to contemplate.

Hello Lori, thanks of course, but basically I am just glad you are here. I appreciate that more than you know.

That is all we can ask for, Prasad, that our words are enough to carry the reader to the end. Thank you.

Amen!

We all have are shadows... but I believe it was you you told me about self-forgiveness.  I relate well to the emotion of this even so.

Yes, I think I did touch on the self-forgiveness with you, Michael. It is something that I fought long and hard, saying to myself and to anybody who would listen, how the hell can you forgive yourself>! But I found out and I sleep better at night.

Thank you for being here.
