Between the Lines

In the heat of the night
I am in the company of strangers
wondering where have all the flowers gone

with only the squeaking of chains
swinging thoughts I've left behind.

I think the flowers were a symbol for something to fight for, and somewhere along the way the flowers wilted and then were gone. By then life  truly does seem like it has chained us.

This poem is, as we used to say back in tha day, "heavy," and could be discussed eternally in a forum.

~ Eggs and bacon, honeymoon style / What's honeymoon style? / Straight up and hard. ~
