I spotted it
as it calmly walked by
a man on the corner
asking for some spare change
a man who fought for freedom
who witnessed horrible things
a man who battles demons daily
the aftermath of war.
It only gave a glance
at the man on the corner
to make sure there was enough
space
between them

I spotted another one
walking by hastily
in its designer suit
it walked past the volunteers
asking for donations
to help the poor victims
of the earthquake and tsunami
the families left with nothing
this time it didn't even glance over

I swear I'm not crazy
I spot them too often
so hurry please, and
alert the media
for I've discovered Aliens
living amongst us
they must be aliens
cause you can't really be "Human"
without humanity.
