The deaths prefer the sun
in their graves burnt by marble
the heat sometimes wakes them
and caresses their children’s grass,

They are alone but do not tremble
and the ground which listens to them
as a mother in her arms
calm down the sweetness of their doubts,

The deaths prefer stones
to the evidences of the life,
they feel the steps of the alive
above the heads and smile,

They know every hour
which cried out the patience of trees
in their graves burnt by boredom
the deaths also prefer forgetting.

Yann, this is very beautiful, sensitive and touching, with a very unique angle and interesting detail.  It took me 2 readings to understand it, but I enjoy puzzling out the meaning of a poem.  I was sorry you didn’t have it in French as well, though.

thanks everybody for reading and commenting, I appreciate a lot, Diana I post the french version,

yann

You've handled the subject of death in a very thoughtful and sensitive way here, yann.

yann,

I don't let any of your poems go by without a read.  This is a gem.  As John said so well ...

Good.

Your gentle exploring of the dead's emotions is deeply captivating, dear Yann. Your write holds light and does not take into consideration the dark sides of our vision of death.

You wrote a profoundly beautiful poem which will linger in my mind for its delicacy.

Love,
Margherita
