you put on lipstick and kissed that brick
leaving a place in my mind for later
when I would stop at this corner
and put my foot down for a moment

I would glance over and grin at you
as if you were still there on tiptoes
with just so little leather on
but plenty of woman inside wanting out

you said I would ride on then quickly
but you would hear my thunder for miles
and it would wet you no matter when
or who you were with if anyone then

and maybe we would run into each other
down at this corner for a drink or two
perhaps some more slow dance songs
maybe breakfast at your place after

you said the shade was called forever

I had a come hither color
once upon a moon ago
but then it paled
and that ship sailed...

good stuff, D.

...you place a memory where there was none...Always easy to be "there" when I read  you

I was inspired by a loss of words,
not of my own but belonging
to someone more modestly
attired in silence. ~DMvK

I don't think I'll ever sell another "Red Brick" lip liner (Avon) again without thinking of you now.  I think they need a red shade called "Innuendo".  Yes?

It's such a pleasure to "attend your penpressions"
