Predictable...
but still always a surprise,
he missed her face, missed her glorious green eyes

Something held them together, him and Act III
like some cosmic strand of a spiderweb
silken, thin, but strong.

she reappeared with a message...

Always, always, her timing,
women's timing impeccable
They reappear when the man has trully forgotten them
moved on

and so, now twice she sent him a message
the same day he had a date with the "next" girl
the tryouts began

began, well, is past tense, that is to say they have started
but wait wait, twist of fate

moments in serendipity

he was emailing the new girl
in the midst received a blank message
typical he said, he thought
it had been a month and still in her message

she said nothing...

so her nothing turned an apology
which turned into a phone call

nahoda?
no, he, and God, as Einstein says...

"God does not roll dice with the universe"

He suspected, she's hear
scratch that, make that, she's here
in the walls
in the spirit
in the mind

and bye for now says she

and the next message
from the tryout?
wait wait
"I will be late"

perhaps tomorrow

for one or the other

it may be too late...

"Time waits for no man"

it waits for no woman
life must
and does
go on

Hesitation?
Or Emancipation...

Wait Wait?
Go ahead, my dear,
if you do, if you will
it may be too late
If you wait...

for Who knows what will happen
in a twist of fate

I like the scatter here, the maybe she'll be the one, no that was the one, no she can't have been, but maybe... It's like life, we never know.

Fascinating juxtaposition of contrasting concepts (e.g. predictability/unpredictability, fate/choice, chemistry/strategy, planned timing/random events, communication/lack thereof, the march of time/waiting, decision/indecision, remembering/forgetting) and metaphors (e.g. Act III and silken spiderweb thread).

I had to look up “nahoda” though I had guessed correctly on both scores – thanks for the new word – languages delight me, so to learn what for me is a new word in a new language and an interesting pronunciation (the accent being on the first syllable, which is not what I would have expected) is exciting.

I particularly enjoyed your philosophical/psychological analysis in this.

Thanks Pilgrammage and thanks Owl.

It is all just Observations and the statement and proclamation of events that happen.

It is a deep realization of life, that there are events and people that are fate, destiny, but what happens between those two people is still our choice, 2 people's own free will in deciding if they will be together or not and the cosmic web of the universe and things, events that happen that bind them, us, everything together

Glad y'all enjoyed the read. Thanks for the comments,
~BRad
