we pull down the occasional
like they were blinds
and we wanted to be discreet
lest the rumors listen in
and then talk about our music

and how we would break things
that we grabbed onto on occasion
like doors and walls
and the trapeze bar above
when our minds were jungling

and after when we were rubberized
with our joints in wrong ways
but everything else was in place
or had memories of being there
etched into the soft of our stones

we would sip tea at the dim view
and pretend we were strangers again
by chance just meeting there
with enough small talk to cover
the cost of a suite out back

overlooking the freeway at rush hour

This kind of brings to mind mornings in a hurry with promises that don't take shape. Makes me think of those who are important to me.

Or something like that.

You know of the true freedom of mind, where all kind of limiting obstacles fall away, providing you with wings and a view of a "higher freeway" that conveys that special music only few may hear.
