Autumn Mid afternoon Near crimson rails On open balconies Slender girls In silk kimonos Men drink sake From guinomi There is sashimi Moist and pink The freshest fish From Edo Bay A basket on his back On the road below A merchant’s servant With hairy legs Young blades On chestnut horses Two women In conversation Wooden signs Announcing Comings goings Searchings Sword school Challenges By the torii gate Blue smoke Purple mountains Waves washing Against the shore Small boats Setting out to sea Leaving no wake . |
