Dedicated to a nameless (now) girl
I met in Newport, Arkansas, only
once, and have never forgotten her.

The seashell white of your throat
Caught my rapt attention first
Your radiant smile for me
Sped my heart double-time beat
Impish twinkle of your nose
I crossed the dance floor to you
You feigned coyness, fluttered eyes
I laughed deep inside my chest
You seemed so shaken by me
Was it your desire or fear?
We danced one dance together
I sat back and watched you play
When your suitors come to call
You let them hold you; false smile
The last dance I had to claim
When time came to all go home
The man who sat beside you
Was very surprised when I
Walked up; said, I'll take you home
You smiled, took me by the hand
I drove to a secret place
We got to know each other
To a hotel I then drove
You were young and so alive
You strapped me in for the ride
Never had that feel before
How did you learn to do that?
You laughed; said, "My aunt taught me."
In the morning I drove her home
I parked a block from her house
She walked the rest of the way
Fearful my car might be seen
N'er forget Arkansas girl
A night of sensuous fun

I don't think any of us will be able to forget it either, now that you've taken us there. Good write my friend.

I love a good story, J.P., and this is a good one.

It reminds me of that fast fiddle tune
"The Arkansas Traveller"..I bet you know that number. :-)

Appreciate it, Ice, and yes indeed, I have heard that breakdown a few times.
