You can ask a man...
You can ask a man
many questions...
and you would never know him

He could answer, he could write you a book
but what of him would you know?
What would you really know?

It depends on the woman, perhaps...
It depends on the questions, perhaps...

He could tell you what you think you want to hear
He could tell you the truth in all honesty
He could be a salesman
He could be a character, a myth

It's all a story that ends with a twist.

But then...
What would you really know?
A man alone,
is not the man, you would know.

Kamaradi, Comradely
together, experience, life
its what you know
the dreams we meld together

and as for the questions...
what are they?
A test, a task, a quest
an acquirement for...
someone who might hold your interest

I really liked this. I wrote my memoir a couple of years ago, and you are right, it would have been so easy to fudge the truth and make myself out not to be the bad guy I was. I didn't, but it would have been so easy. Good in-dept poetry, man.
