The bird sits on a branch
of a nearby Pine tree,
high up, close to the sky.
I hear its song,
it echoes within my heart
and becomes mine too.
Lonesomeness is the tune.
So we are two ...
and I don’t even find my voice
to sing along.
But I hear you, I hear you,
as you share with the world
this saddest of truths ...

This is exquisite, Margherita.  Thank you for sharing your heart with the little bird and for sharing the bonding with us.

You frighten me about the sadness, though . . .

VERY well 'penned' !!

A first nation person once told me that all people and creatures feel differently about situations because of their personal history and their conditioning...except for one thing, and that is lonliness...you and the bird feel as one...this poem reminded me of that lesson..

Hugs to you, Dear Margherita..

Come read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling
And banish the thoughts of day.

Rapport with the bird song is a good, a very good place to me, Margherita. This was good.

Dear Margherita,

The echo carries to Alaska and into my heart also.  I can't always sing the songs, but the music lifts me.

Thank you.

Dear Diana, thank you for your loving comment. There is no reason to be frightened, dear friend. Sadness,  loneliness are very consistent parts of our range of human emotions. While on our Path we learn to deal with them. Sometimes we need help. To alleviate the pain of loneliness of another will bring healing to ourselves too. This time it was the bird and me.

Thank you, dear Bruce, I am grateful for your visit and comment here. Though we are part of the Whole, there are moments in which we perceive our individual fragility, our being alone in coping with life's challenges. What you say is also a very sad truth, the non-alignment of humanity to the Universal Harmony and respect of life's beauty and sacredness.

Thank you so much, dear Ford, for your deep understanding and for your hug. I appreciate it. There are things we can't share with others and we are then confined into the space of loneliness where we just wait for a spark of light to pierce our heart and to permeate it with love and new hope. Sometimes that spark comes in the shape of a smile, which warms our hearts and melts the walls of ice that grow around us.

Thank you, dear Jerry, for your loving comment. Yes the connection was healing in a way.

Thank you, dear James, for stopping by and for your appreciation.

Dear EmmaRose, I enjoyed your loving comment very much, thank you from my heart. You are right.

Thank you, sweet Alison, for your perception of the echo. Your heart is such a warm place to dwell in. Sometimes humming is a good idea, when singing seems impossible.

Thank you all again.
Sending you much love, dear Poet friends.

I am always in tune with you, my fellow Picses, Your words always find that special place in my heart and I know that you understand sadness in the same way that I do.

Thank you so much, dear Ida "pesciolina come me", yes we do harmonize beautifully in our "Weltanschauung" ... oh my, sorry, three lines and three languages, but those words just popped out of my head like that! And I know you understand.

Love,
Margherita

Well, thank goodness for that, Margherita.  I was imagining all sorts of things, including something to do with your family in Belgium and I didn't want to pry, but as you are usually such a positive person, I was very anxious.  Smiles of relief and lots of hugs.

Thank you for the hugs, dear Diana. In this world of duality no one is able to be exclusively positive, even if this attitude is predominant. And there need not be any dramatic reasons for the feeling of lonesomeness to surface in certain moments.
You worry too much, my dear friend. Whenever you think negative, I suggest you erase the negative thought and replace it with a positive one. We all should learn to do this, in order to keep negative thoughts from actually manifesting. It's a lifelong exercise! The over-anxiety is a trait of Motherhood, I fear.

Love and hugs.

curiously this can seem a paradox, I love moments of communion with nature, I think it doesn't mean loneliness with other people but gratitude to life and beauty (how idealistic i am)...However Margherita your poem is  a jewel, a vibrant and poignant testimony to deepness of sentiments...I adore it.

Thank you so much, dear Faith, for your loving comment.

Thank you, dear Kat, for telling me you enjoyed it.

Dear Yann, idealistic man (Yann, the man, as our Linda Earth Angel would say ... how I miss her on Pip ...), thank you for your very special comment. On so many occasions we are on our own, but never actually alone, you are right. Here the bird brings this awareness even through a song that is deeply melancholic.

Dear Martie, thank you so much for the gift of being here. Yes, we shall never stop pondering over the mystery of life.

Thank you, dear Spiros, for stopping by and for experiencing this as harmonious.

Love to all,
Margherita
