Girl from Chinatown

Sometimes on full moon nights
she comes around to my side of town,
the girl from Chinatown.
She's a free spirit
beholden to no one,
wanting nothing
but to pass
a little bit of time.
She likes sushi
She loves wine,
nary a care
only some
time to share.
I wouldn't mind
knowing her better,
when she comes
and where she goes
only she knows.
Perhaps she's a
child of the wind,
always moving around
with no location
to settle down.
Such is the life
of the girl
from Chinatown.

She surely is a gentle breeze that brings you lovely inspiration, dear James.

Very nice.

Nicely done with mystery the theme all the way through. I knew a woman (girl) like that once, but she wasn't from Chinatown. You did a remarkable job on this. Too many poets would want to get more involved. What you gave us, the readers, was just right.

fine 'slice of life' impression  ...

sublime mystery ... thy very name is woman!
