If I could not speak, oh, the things I would say
I’d pour out my heart without slightest delay
My hands would touch gently, my breath would be soft
I’d kiss you so sweetly, with spirits aloft
I’d grin with my lips, and I’d smile with my eyes
The language of body would tell you no lies
I’d confess my true feelings, day after day
If I could not speak, oh, the things I would say

But how good for us that you did speak out these thoughts! Beautifully done.

In words there is great energy and we should be always aware of their power, using them wisely.

Love,

I misinterpreted this poem the first time around, for some reason I thought it was about the blind. My mistake. But yes, you make a wonderful case for being truthful and not hide things back. If you couldn't speak you would surely do these things. How strange that those of us who can speak usually have many forked tongues.

Good work.

Margherita,
"In words there is great energy and we should be always aware of their power, using them wisely."
I could not have said it better! That is exactly what this poem is meant to say. If all I needed to do was show my love, it would be easy as pie! But that word is very powerful, so I am nervous to use it.
Thanks for your feedback!

Yes, don't words get in the way sometimes;
specially when one considers
that smiles and cries and hugs say so much more!
So sends you non-verbal hugs.
