( I hope the moderaters and readers do not think that this is in the wrong forum ...but if any are offended by any part of it please let me know, I will take it off and post it in the "mature" area..please know my intent is to not offend, always)

Peculiar
Is, a round lobed hepatica
With pointed leaves,
In a wilderness
Of assembly line trees.

Not peculiar,
(Though it seems unusual)
Is an old man kissing his wife,
On the lips in a super market;
Her obviously liking it....

Not strange is
The young not understanding
That some that are old are still rebellious,
Shown at times by public demonstration.

Brats throw sharp innuendos
At sagging breasts, with a laugh-
"two fried eggs, nailed on a board"..
But the old man loves them
The feel of them..loves to consume
Their dark yolks-
Still loves to touch, and nibble them..

In the produce isle, the old man
Fingers the cleft of a ripe peach-
Pubescent, with a small protruding stem;
And like hers, sweet on the tongue-
Reminding him;

Wilderness is everywhere.
It can be experienced at the store,
At home, or along any road the mind takes.
In every age, you can find these wild places.

The old man finds what he needs
In her scent as he follows it
Along trails, past and present-
Her musk
Still makes his nostrils flare,
As ordered by the captain of passionate...

A momentary kiss in the market,
Makes a bright place, in the wilderness
That they choose to lay down in
Because sunlight just-then
Has broken through the canopy.

I smiled through every word of yours, dear Ford. There is so much tender passion exuding from this poetic rendering of your feelings. And I love the picture. "Old" people do not feel old actually, I know from my own experience. The heart, the brain, the body are still able to have Spring reactions and if this happens between married people it is a very special gift I would say.
The remarks from young people who do not approve, must not touch us ... we know better.

Wonderful.

Love,
Margherita

Very creative, and I doubt I could get away with it, they'd probably yank it off here if I
d written it. You really did some work here, and it shows, it is a SHOUT-OUT that just because we are old, we still have a little vinegar left . . .

There is such a sweet innocent almost childlike touch to this.
Really enjoyed it

"I doubt I could get away with it, they'd probably yank it off here if I

On another poetry site I post on, there is a "Red letter warning" if something is not "appropriate" for all age brackets. You post it at the head of your poem. If young people want to read mature poetry in here , they can just go to the "other" areas...sort of like having a magazine in your sock drawer, and not on the table..it is there none the less for all to see.
I am glad you liked the poem, and enjoyed your comments.

Your comment is exactly the reason for the poem,. We that are uhhhh, mature have the same feelings as the young, if we are smart enough to not let them die.
Thank you

"There is such a sweet innocent almost childlike touch to this."
Yes, the poem tries to send the message of childlike feelimgs, a sense of  constant renewal..It can be attained, but it takes attention to the relationship.
Thank you for reading.

Come read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling
And banish the thoughts of day.

If it's up to me, this is going to stay right here...
and it's going right back to the top.

I found this endearing walk down a
wilderness path to not only be
enlightening, but strong in the conviction
that love can last forever...

just as any lover might dream.

"The business of the poet...is to show the sorriness underlying the grandest things and the grandeur underlying the sorriest things." Thomas Hardy
