Along the bayou I walk slow,
Hell, I'm too old to be a beau.
I watch the egrets on the bank,
Every so often takes a drink.
The bayou is so strangely still,
An egret spears fish with his bill.
There! The red shutters of your house,
I know you're wearing a white blouse.
Your sweet voice comes to me in song,
Though we know what we do is wrong.
I don't knock, just open the door,
You wear a smile, I'm in rapport.

rapport in french means two things, a link at first and then a relation (often romantic), there is no rapport with french here but the poem is overwhelming, efficient and descriptive, I love the images of bayou, the wanderings in nature and this poem was a wonderful emotion,

thanks

Hi yann, I used rapport to combine the feeling he has with the smile she has.

Thanks for your kind remarks, they are appreciated.
