Between the Lines

0 posted 2011-05-23 06:48 AM

Land of Between

Maybe the words were real
or maybe they were just "write".
Maybe inside the doubts bought seeds
to bring me into the light.

Maybe my rhyme is worth nothing
and maybe its treasures' hold.
Just maybe I'm wasting the glimpse of my best
tracing these feelings in bold.

Maybe my heart is deceptive,
playing a game deep within.
Read what you read, traveling the lines
'cause sometimes I think I'm a twin...

For emotions take twists and those turns
imbibing what may/may not be.
Clouds hover over wanting to rain
but fade into blueness, you see.

Or maybe you don't, there's the rub,
disclosing my feelings held back.
I live for the now in the Land of Between
with no reason, just feeling the lack.

I love your feelings, dear Maureen, and the masterful way you express them. A poem that will call for further readings, no doubt, as it is profound and beautiful.

Love and hugs.

It's about time you joined the "Land of Between," M. I have been wandering its surreal and strange landscape for some time now.

You spelled it out in this unique piece of poetry what it is like as you try to analyze yourself and sometimes meet yourself coming back.

I love it. Goes in my library.

I like the way you are able to write about the way you feel without coming right out and telling it.

I made a note one time, in my folder of (unwriten) poem titles.

The note said.."The space between tick and tock"

It looks like that poem has already been writen..with a much better title, and better words than I probably could write on the theme... :-)

Maureen...a timeless place that is always there though just out of reach.  Much enjoyed your thoughtful take on it.

Margherita, sometimes life doesn't happen the way one expects or can even influence and you just accept it as is.

JerryPat2, thank you. I have been living  this way for about 10 or so years or about the time I began writing and have accepted that one can't go back.

Paul, always a pleasure to see you  here.

Sue, Thanks. That's why I say I live "Between the Lines".  I hope the new storms haven't affected you.

ice, only thing is your tick tock space  has even less room in it   I don't think I could have survived that! Thanks
M

Bruce, nice to see you. Things have been very tiring- the weather- the economy etc... not much positive to write about lately.

Ida, maybe it's an age thing and we have to leave more room for the next generations.

jw. thank you always!

Martie, well sometimes I think I am stuck there...sighing

K, I know you understand. And we do what we have to do to survive.
hugs back

M
