Lately there, somewhere
in a late Spring time breeze
I have been passing through, you-
sleepy eyes and philosophies,

not touching anyone, sun
shining on a blind man's face,
and I haven't felt at home, a poem
present in an awkward place,

like the dust on moth's wings, things
just don't seem the same
as I pass my shadows by, sigh
a wonder who'll remember my name.

Sometime in the distance
there is a light, a sight,
an angel comforting everyone I can't,
and will I forget? Yes I might.

I 'look' at everything around me
and wonder if I have the right.

Dear Dixie, it's good to read your excellent poetry again!

There is melancholy in this. Who will remember our name? All those who love us and no one on this Earth is unloved, even as sometimes we get this feeling. And then we are always connected to our Divine Source, where Love simply IS A CONSTANT.

Love and hugs.

A view from Saturn's bower..

John Keats (In Hyperion) speaks to your lament:

"«O aching time! O moments big as years!
«All as ye pass swell out the monstrous truth,
«And press it so upon our weary griefs
«That unbelief has not a space to breathe."

And you answer:

"Sometime in the distance
there is a light, a sight,
an angel comforting everyone I can't,
and will I forget? Yes I might.

I 'look' at everything around me
and wonder if I have the right."

Yes, you have "the right"

Love your poem.

Aw, sometimes I think we take ourselves way too seriously, I know I do and have done most of my life. While it is good to take ourselves seriously (if not us, who?) But we like to analyze everything sometimes out of portion, especially those of us who write poetry. We are who we are. And yes, our names will be remembered, and YES! you have the right.
