Oh, please turn the back light on, if you will,
On this black spring day of thunderous squalls.
I will sit here holding my breath until,
That back light comes on and I am enthralled.
The vicious storms have gone and it is night,
And yet there has been no back light turned on.
A blood red Harvest Moon shines oh, so bright,
Oh, darling at least ring me on the phone.
Oh, I worship you and your wondrous lips,
When you whispered sweet nothings in my ear,
It was last week you held me in your grip,
And now you seem to want to mock and jeer.
Oh look, I see you preparing for bed,
Another night alone, I feel I'm dead

No indeed, Lori, I am most certainly not dead on many fronts. Thanks for the "old rascal" moniker, I've worked long and hard to arrive there. Appreciate the read and comments.

I wondered why the moon was less important than the back light on and then in the end the answer came ...

Very romantic Sonnet, dear Jerry, enjoyed it.

Love,

Thank you, Margherita , the moon has its moments, but the back light has it's also . . . In a pinch.

I missed this one J.P.
Well done, in the modern context, in a difficult form.

The "back light" on, seems to be a sign of "come on over". a lovers signal.
The "back light" must not have come on for a while, as you can feel the irritation in the narrators voice, his pain is obvious.

This deserves to go back to the top.

enjoyed
