perhaps the bubble wrap musicals
of autumn under waffle house soles
leaving behind tea leaves in jigsaw

or wood pecker carpenters building cathedrals
pecking through the fir fur sundown
then moving into hollow hearts to worship

or adolescent winds, barely breezes now
from just up the road window where they left
to cello a hanging sign into swing sounds

and tiptoe coffee in her long shirt gown
making sure she is there before yes please
can make this smile have any other uses

than just to be her rocking chair shivaree

or perhaps the forest in the valley has secret glens with hidden waterfalls and a large rock to sit on and watch the water falling, falling, falling and share the beauty of its serenade . . .

You have outdone yourself with this one, dear D.!

I love every single line, but picked out just this one that I adore:

quote:
or adolescent winds, barely breezes now

Love your wood pecking carpenters here and the world you carve yourself into from all
the crevices that wander through your mind's home.

I love all your little nuances, putting them together is challenging at best.

....but always worth the read.

Cool, dude~

I once read in the N.Y. Times book review section,a critic say that romantic poetry did not have a place in the modern era, as a critical cut against a poem he was doing a critique on.

He should have read this one, he might have thought differently.

This my Dark Stranger Poetry Night - and how happy I am not to miss this poem.  You know, I hear the cellos and feel that smile.
