Listening to every heart

She’s So Cool…

A film of sheen
In this ever-winter-spring
Turned summer silk
Sitting in the air
And I imagine my cousin,
Here.

She’s never been
Here,
She’s traveled, she’s loved,
She’s born a child
But she’s never been
Here.

She sends me photos of family
I have never seen
She’s connected to others with
A strain of Italian blood
So fine that it floods
Her cheeks at times…

She’s beautiful.

Once I thought she was
A sister, but she’s better…
My keeper of trust, love and secrets
My cuz…
She loves with
An ocean’s devotion…

But she’s never been
Here…

The skies are pink in this night’s twilight.

If I send this poem to her,
I imagine she’ll pink, as well.

She’s that cool.

Absolutely wonderful, start through to the end. It makes a subtle sound like a wind chime in the breeze. Enjoyed very much.

Haha! Lovely and entertaining is this one for sure, sunshine. For a while I got the impression you were chastising her for not coming "here", but as I kept reading I knew better. (I think)
