in a rare moment of clarity
he realized his rise to riches
did not make him wiser
nor less boorish

having seen a vision
of his sole life's revision
life seemed nothing less
than a lie

throwing fortune to the wind
he will begin his life again
among the paupers without friends
once again

Some life choices are truly heavy for all those somehow involved, but everyone is responsible for the own decisions and we can't but wish them the best. Not all learn their life lessons at the same pace ...

You rendered this powerfully, dear Faith.

Love,
Margherita

Many fall, but learn life's lessons and that is always a good thing.

Wish he'd throw a few baubles this way. Let me put it this way, I have never been in a situation where having money made it worse.

faithmairee - In this society, it takes a wise man, once foolish, to see that with all the abundance of wealth and money gained, there can be an epic poverty of soul and spirit. Then, what is the measure of his riches when his life has the final accounting and he can't take his gold with him. This was poignant and well done faithmairee. I enjoyed. Namyh

Ida-Thank you so much.  I have had such a weird work schedule lately that I haven't been on here much.  It was so nice to know you stopped by.
