Seventy and Counting

A couple hours into seventy
Sitting here at quarter to two
Doing what I always do
My heart and soul, think YOU!

Drank a few at the “V”
And sang some karaoke
Bought a round for the house
Because, it was, our Birthday.

Had Rodger come by
And, take off my cover
When they played, for all those lost
In the stupidity of war.

So many, die so young
To, keep the fat cats rich
And every war-monger
Is, a SON-OF-A-BITCH.

Like all those we keep voting in
Because, we don’t have the guts
To say, what we really think
We think they have us by the nuts!

But, our Country was founded
By those who, saw the light
And, they kinda knew
What was wrong and what was right.

We have no one to blame it on
Except us, when we go to the polls
Why we do it, to ourselves
I’m sure, nobody knows!

Well, back to my Birthday
I’m amazed, each early morn
When I face another day
Since, the one I was born.

Been working like a mule
And, surprise myself at how
I do things I used to
But, I’m still doing ‘em now.

Much love, to all who read this
(from where words come, I know not?)
And sometimes, these words I write
Seem to be, all I’ve got.

Listening to the “Eagles”
Sing, “The Best of my Love”
And Andrea, I love you
I swear to (if there is) God above!

Happy Birthday, dear Del "Abe" Jones! We have the right to ponder on our birthdays I think and you do so very well. It's good to hear you are in good shape. May divine blessings shower you abundantly, on this special day and all those to come! A heart full of love is never alone.
