My Angel

As I walk into
the bamboo forest
I feel the cares
of this world
dimenishing,
with each
step I take
my worries
grow weaker
until finally they seem
to fade away;
off in the distance
I see movement,
and wonder what
it could be.
Even though it is
close to sunset
I see vibrant colors,
colors of red and green
and pink and purple,
even black.
What could it be
moving toward me,
or perhaps who
could it be.
I move towards the colors
and now I can see
it is an angel,
a precious angel
approaching me.
She has long black
silky hair
and in the sensations
of my soul,
as she reaches
out to me
I am aware that she cares.
We increase our pace
and now I clearly see
the beautiful smile upon her face.
Up until now, no words
have been exchanged,
yet somehow I knew
who she was before
I heard her refrain.
"I'm your angel,
I've come to take you away,
I'm taking you to heaven,
you have lived your
final earthly day
and you shall dwell
with you Heavenly Father
from this very day."
I took her hand,
she caressed my soul,
my earthly body
was dying to go.

I've known people like that, who would be glad to take the hand of that angel. Some of them suffered much too long.

~ He is dead and I am proud of that fact. ~

Dear James, this has a beautiful mystic touch to it. A wonderful way to imagine the moving on ... May it be like this when the time comes!

Love,

Margherita

Very nice, James..
I like the way the poem opens, and how it connects the natural with the supernatural, in a physical way..But if it is in a "physical" way, then the whole poem is natural, or nature based.

The idea of the permenance of heaven is debateable in my mind, as is the permenance of anything..but that does not take my feelings about the poem away..It is nicely done, and I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you twistedpup and ice for the nice responses...I'm glad that it was positive for you twistedpup, and ice I believe that we are body, soul and spirit...even though this earthly body will die and go back to the earth, out spiritual soul will live on with our creator...because He loved us he sent Jesus...James
