I lay awake and think at night,
And wonder what the day will bring,
Fidget and turn as if by rite,
Will I awake and take to flight,
Or with my neighbor have a fling?

The world's an oyster so I've heard,
Shucking it that's the hardest part,
I fight the fight with lots of verve,
End of day it's awfully blurred,
I just take life as à la carte.

So, I have found a brand new me,
I whistle as I make my way,
I laugh and joke and slap my knee,
And hide and pee behind a tree,
I grin and leave and say olé!

OOOOOkay, sounds like a coonass with too many raw shucks and swallow downs with beer and shine trying to catch up....kinda neat though...I may even be a little jealous if I hadn't had so many crawfish today  (1.50 about in 35 pound sack, alive and kicking at Kroger groceries)  Only drawback... I had root-beer, not BEER!!!

enjoyed, my friend....had I been able woulda gone to mom's place in Pear River, La...they had shrimp, crabs, oysters and all the goodies......

see ya...

This is light and airy, a good way to face and unravel life I would say. Sometimes there is the need to "blur" the contours when they are too nitid and sharp.

You see, you took flight after all, writing this cute poem. I enjoyed it much.

Love,
Margherita

jerry this is a superb poem, I love the changing relation of the poet and the excellent metaphor of it, I love images and stranger words that you use with harmony and accuracy, this read was an enchantment.

That sack of crawfish sounds great, j. I can almost smell them this morning. Love all that stuff, especially soft shell crabs. Ever had soft shell crawfish? Whoa! Thank for stopping by and making me hungry.

Hah! Yeah, blurring things is a surefire way of getting a good nights sleep. Only problem with that is that it is still there when you wake up in the morning, Margherita. Yes, indeed, I did take flight.

Thanks, yann, for your nice thoughts about the poem. I appreciate it.
