I do not Paint ~ I only Write

I do not paint
but by word of explanation
I color your
thoughts

I pick up not a brush,
but my quill
and wash your
soul with rainbows

I have an eye
for color, but no
artistic bent
to wend a lovely
picture
that you might gaze upon
and fall into
as Alice did

but I do enjoy
what color means

knowing that purity, joy and glory
await me in white

fire, blood and charity
are wrapped in robes of red

truth and heaven I realize
when looking up at blue skies

understanding my affinity
for my love of green,
in the hope of eternal life,
a rebirth of nature

how purple really means
sorrow and suffering

and

black, most significant,
an absence of life

so it is fitting today
that I share with you, this
lovely Easter morning

how these colors
and their religious symbolism

come forth to meet you
greet you
welcome you
remind you

that I do not paint, I only write
and I only write to
leave you with
a smile

You have painted quite lovingly of your world and you offered it to us, your subjects. For we are your subjects as we read your words, how could we be anything but?

I very much liked your explanation as you showcased your colors. Well done. Brava.

You paint beautiful pictures with your words!  Loved it all but when reading I just automatically erased the word "only".  I do not Paint, I Write - yes, you do and most excellently too.

Thank you for this, and for shining your light on these blue pages.
You must know, they wouldn't be the same without you.

Karilea- Anytime you wish to pick up your paint brush and splash more words across your canvas, let me know. I'll be sure to save a spot on my wall to hang it.
