where the wild flowers grow

A little bird, a sparrow,
lived quiet in the tallest days,
flew across the miles in sleep and wake,
enough to know
it was time to go,
she glided toward the sunset's colors,
and dipped her wings in the day's end paint,
ascended to the highest height,
to places no human could see,
and when the sun had said its goodbye,
a star was born
in an empty space of the sky.

THIS is poetry, from the first word to the last one. Excellent.

Tears for the sparrow in your beautiful tribute poem, but she is joyous in Heaven now with Flicka, Tigger and Daisy, my horse, cat and dog, but still the tears flow . . .
