A Different Dance

Lets say I liked a woman.
Lets say that she liked me.
Lets say we got together
to see what would be would be.
I'd like to tell you
that things were lovely,
I'd like to tell you
we were a dreamy romance,
but that would stretch the truth,
at times we seemed to be
dancing to a different dance.
Lets say I wanted her in my arms forever,
but in my arms she wasn't meant to be,
lets say there was stormy weather,
lets say that I liked her
more than she liked me.

I'd say cut your loss and go cruising . . .
