Black and White

Of blacks and whites and charcoal grays,
Beautifully masked in shadowed nights
And lusterous in the brightest days,
Thunder cracks as your image strikes.
The shape of you shapes the view,
Making the world softer and light.
Giving way to the desire one hardly knew.
Something to hold and have and grip tight.
Strength is lent by the gift of your smile
Mortals bow and gods do turn.
As you approach in gracious style
You light hearts with eyes that spark and burn.
Beautiful blacks, whites and grays,
A face to be remembered for all days.

Beautifully rendered sonnet, Donovan. William is smiling.
